Denny warms up winter!

E-mail Print

Share_the_SoupDenny has helped FoodBank SA to ease the impact of the cold winter weather on South Africa’s hungry.

Last year, Denny kindly gave soup worth over R200 000 to the hungry via FoodBank SA.

This year they have been even more generous, donating hearty soup worth a whopping R300 000.

On behalf of a lot of hungry people who will now enjoy warm tummies, thank you Denny!

The first batch of this soup was donated to FoodBank SA on 31 May, when South Africa celebrated the second annual National Soup Day. National Soup Day was established in 2011 and aims to mobilise South Africans to not only enjoy a steaming bowl of soup but also to come together and spare a thought for the millions of hungry people in our country.

Soup_Donation_to_FoodBank_SAOn National Soup Day, Denny donated the soup to FoodBank SA’s branches in Cape Town and Durban. Thereafter, FoodBank SA immediately began distributing this soup to the hungry via some of our approximately 1,700 beneficiary Agencies. Partnering with Denny provides FoodBank SA with a welcome opportunity to acquire much-needed food for beneficiaries. We are delighted to again collaborate with Denny and we very grateful for this and every generous donation.

National Soup Day 2012 was again a special and meaningful day for all involved which we at Denny plan to continue in future years”. He further expressed his appreciation to FoodBank SA, “We at Denny feel that feeding the hungry is a wonderful initiative and we are very happy that we could once again help FoodBank SA.  We know they will get the food to the right places and thank them for their support in helping us feed South Africa’s hungry”.
